About the Design: The inspiration for the “country” styled socks is the traditional Double Nine-Patch quilt block. It’s a very simple graphic, that comes alive in color.The Bright Blue pair were the original colorway, based on Amish quilts, with their clear bright colors. These are playful colors! The Muted Plum colorway counters the brightness with a more subdued selection of colors. I kept the patterning to the cuffs, heels and toes, with plain stockinette legs and feet to break up the more intense colorwork knitting, creating a backdrop for the patterning. Cuffs and toes are simple stranding with 2 colors per row. The heels can be knit in any of 4 methods – your choice. I knit both versions in Brown Sheep Nature Spun Worsted, an all wool yarn with such wonderful yardage, it knits well as a DK. Size: Woman’s medium (with sizing note)
