Milady's Posies is a beauty, if I do say so myself. The center "posy" is a reproduction of an antique powder compact I got a few years ago.. The flowers were stitched on silk gauze which decorates the top of the compact. They were so delicate and pretty and I couldn’t wait to recreate them. The silks I used to stitch this piece give the whole piece such a depth and glow. I loved stitching this and I hope you do, too! The model is stitched on Mason Linen Haberdashery Dark 40 ct using the called for Hand-dyed Fiber silks. Alternative fabrics: To maintain the “antique” fee of this photo, I recommend using a neutral fabric with gold tones. Also, this design has so many colors, many of them lighter-toned, that you will want to stay away from lighter-colored fabrics. As always, if in doubt, do small floss swatches on the fabric to check that all flosses are visible
